The APFLBB (a legally recognized association) - stands for the Association of Organic Fruit and Vegetable Producers of Brittany. Its creation in 1997 came from the impetus of various organic producers who wished to group together and organization that would be solely organic and present a united front in dealing with large wholesalers, government administration departments, industry and consumers. The IBB (Interprofession Biologique Bretonne) greatly contributed to the birth of the APFLBB.

The APFLBB was officially recognized as a producers’ Organization (OP) by the state in June 1998 : the first in France ! It is currently the only Producers’ Organization of its sort. Its members are to be found in all four Breton departments (Finistère, Côtes d’Armor, Morbihan, Ille et Vilaine).
